Be Mindful is here to honor all things Yoga. Be Mindful Yoga focuses on Vinyasa flow (breath with movement) yoga and setting aside time to get in touch with your inner being. Honoring the sun through Surya Namaska, (sun salutations), building on a flow sequence, engaging in a mind body connection and paying attention to the breath are just a few components of the style. Vinyasa falls under the umbrella of Hatha yoga, which is wonderfully wide and vast. There is much to learn about the different styles of practice, the gurus behind them, the art of turning inwards and meditation, and the history of Yoga. Exploring the different asanas (postures), the Sanskrit language, and how to engage your body in the poses for maximum benefit-is a continuous, lifelong lesson of Yoga in itself. Every teacher is different as is every student. Everyone comes to their mat for a different reason - but somehow, at the end of the day, we are all one by honoring the beauty and grace that is Yoga. I invite you to delve in and see what the practice can do for you.
